3 focuses

We leave for Burundi on Tuesday... I can't believe it! I am getting really excited. I will try to keep my blog updated with our preparations. :) I don't think we are going to have much internet access while in Kibuye, so I won't be updating as much as I had hoped.

I have decided to have 3 focuses while in Burundi that you can be praying for me in accomplishing:

1. Spending time with the boys. I would really like to train them in listening, playing nicely together, and giving them adequate attention.

2. Strengthening my knowledge of what it means to be a children's ministry leader. I bought 2 books from Amazon about children's ministry leadership and I am really hoping to learn more so that I can lead the ministry in better ways.

3. Learning more about what it means to open a preschool. I am not sure if I blogged about this earlier, but we I am seriously looking into opening a preschool. Bentley will start in the fall and there aren't any preschools in our zip code that he could attend. Also, children in the inner city need to be educated earlier by some type of system. I bought a book over break called, Whatever it Takes about the Harlem Children's Zone in Harlem, NY.

If you are interested in any level of educating children in the inner city this book is for you! I am really looking forward to reading this book again and I printed off pages of information about the program, as well as, other preschools to learn from.
