I love the Farnsworth block in Detroit. Some of my best memories happened on this block! It just never worked out for us to live there- but maybe that makes the memories that much sweeter. It was a beautiful evening to have our final dinner at James' house. We kept it simple- feeding more kids than adults- savoring not the food, but the children- their laughs, their noise, their chaos, and their excitement. I remember summers in Minnesota with my mom- late evenings bright with sun- bare feet squished in the dirt- grass stains on everything- the fresh air that soothes my soul- there's just something special about the midwestern summers! I hope the kids hold on to some of their memories from this beautiful part of the country....
