loving where you are, but not staying there

I feel overwhelmed with thoughts as I long to share everything I learned at the conference. Obviously I'll never be able to do that. :) I do hope to spend time this week and share some of the things I learned. God is doing some incredible work through people. Wow... I was inspired.

I want to make sure I communicate that I am celebrating what God is doing in the lives of the people I love. I am naming specific sins of the church and of Christians as a collective group, but I am not calling out sins specifically to people I love. I wouldn't do that on a blog, I'd call you. :) And I hope you'd call me.
I am challenging all of us to dig deep into the heart of God and His love for the poor and asking us if we are contributing to this need.
I don't want my readers to become burdened with what they aren't doing. That's a very depressing place to be- I have to bring myself out of that place frequently! I want you to be joyful in what God is doing in you- and encourage us to continually ask ourselves if we are doing what God designed us to do.

Spend some time celebrating where God has you.... what he's teaching you... where he's challenging you...and where's he's taking you.

At the end of the day serving the poor, and being a good neighbor, and fighting for social justice is irrelevant if we don't have Christ at the center of it all... because then it's about us... and this movement... this desire for change... although it is often prompted out of selfishness- should be rooted in Christ.

So recognize who we are in Christ. Love where we are. But not so much that we stay there. :)

And if you want to share in the comments things that you are learning- or what God is doing through you- or your church- I'd love to read it and encourage you- and I know others would too.
